Job Description
Lead and manage a development team of top-notch professionals in network management.
The team will be responsible for high quality, on schedule and on budget delivery of world-class Network management solutions across product lines based on requirements specified by marketing and systems engineering.
- Work closely with System Engineering, Program/release management, Test and other development organizations, marketing and technical support to ensure that product is designed and developed based on the requirements in a timely manner.
- Should be a driver to ensure product usability, performance, scalability, and differentiated feature set based on marketing requirements for the entire DNA – Element Management System, including interfaces (including mocking User Interface, interface to backend, and other tools), usability, and workflow.
- Drive innovative technologies, processes to achieve world-class productivity and solutions.
- Participate in cross-functional leadership and coordination of release content through the product life cycle gate process with Engineering, Test, Marketing, Sales, and Support organizations. Will be required to get involved in detailed technical issues.
- Travel (including international) will be required.
Profile/Requirements
- 15+ years experience with telecommunication product development, mostly in network management area.
- 4+ years experience as a Director or manager in a telecom equipment vendor building world-class telecom products is required. Management experience in building and/or scaling the team in medium and/or large organization is desirable.
- Ability to lead and motivate a senior and high performing team.
- Product lifecycle management experience in at least one leading telecom product.
- Experience with architecting and designing highly scalable, user-friendly EMS/NMS system for managing multi-technology and multi vendor networks is required.
- Good understanding of client-server architectures, EMS/NMS/OSS architecture and products, TMN architecture, Java/Web based technologies, standards interfaces and protocols (SNMP/CORBA/XML), FCAPS functionality.
- Working knowledge and hands on experience of architecting a large scale EMS based on J2EE or Application Server based technology a plus. Working knowledge of client technologies like, AJAX, Flex a plus.
- Proven ability to drive innovative processes, technologies and productivity.
- Working knowledge of carrier-class networking architecture, including at least one of the following technologies: SONET/SDH, WDM, IP/MPLS/Ethernet, or DSL/PON
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Qualified candidate for this position must be able to operate with minimal supervision, a strategic thinker and problem solver
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, Marketing, senior management and engineers.
- Experience working with remote teams is strongly desired
- Ability to function effectively at both a strategic and tactical level.
- Strong analysis, problem resolution, judgment and decision-making skills. Ability to make trade-offs, prioritize work.
